During your visit, our staff will get a chance to talk to you to see if you are having any trouble with your pet. We will also go over diet, preventative medicine, and exercise to ensure that your pet is as healthy as possible. The veterinarian will then do a complete physical examination on your pet. Laboratory diagnostics may be recommended if your pet is nearing or of an advanced age. It is always good to have a baseline in case your pet ever becomes ill. The sooner we catch a disease process, the easier it is to treat it and possibly undo any damage. Health Checks

Diagnostics/Testing

Our hospital provides a wide variety of in-house diagnostic testing, including analyzers for blood samples and urine samples, as well as digital radiography. Any other or specialized testing can be quickly completed at our reference laboratory. It is our goal to provide your pet with the highest level of care possible, and our diagnostic tools help us do that.

Radiography

Our digital X-ray capabilities allow us to locate many injuries and abnormalities your animal may have, in a noninvasive and efficient manner. With over 30+ years of experience, we know how to make your pets comfortable for this procedure, and deliver precise results.

Having a digital x-ray machine allows us to get images of potential injuries or areas of concern almost instantly. Digital radiography provides a level of detail far better than film x-ray, and because of this, can lead to better diagnoses. If consultation is needed with a boarded radiologist, our system can email the images directly, thus providing rapid image evaluation.

Laboratory Testing

There’s nothing more difficult for an animal lover than seeing a pet suffer. When something isn’t right with your dog or cat, you can usually tell right away, but because animals can’t talk to us, it can be difficult to determine exactly what is bothering them. Here at Animal Care Clinic, we are able to take advantage of the latest technology to deliver quick and accurate diagnostic services. Our in-house laboratory provides thorough, fast results that are often the same day. If specialized testing is needed, we are able to send samples via next day air to our reference laboratory, allowing a fast turn around for results.

Every surgery comes with risks, but here at the Animal Care Clinic we strive to keep those to a minimum. Each pet’s anesthetic protocol is geared toward his or her particular needs and all precautions are taken to help ensure the safest conditions possible. We also realize that it can be stressful to have your pet undergo surgery. We want to assure you that your pet is in good hands, and that we will do everything to provide the best care possible. We will communicate with you about the things you need to know before, during, and after your pet’s surgery. It is our goal to make the entire process go smoothly, and to eliminate the stress and worry of surgical procedures.

You will be asked at check in if you would like a pre-anesthetic blood work-up done. These tests allow us to have a better grasp on how healthy your pet is internally, and therefore how much risk there may be under anesthetic. While the tests are optional for any pet, we highly recommend them for all pets over the age of seven.

Microchipping

Although these chips do not function as a GPS device, they trace to contact information that can help reunite lost pets with their families.

It is a relatively fast procedure, and is completely safe. This microchip is registered with your pet’s vital information, and can be scanned by any veterinarian or animal shelter so that they can return your pet directly to you.

Nutritional Counseling

Obesity is a common problem among pets, as it can be easy to over-feed a pet, especially if they know how to beg.
